Test-of-Time Award

The ACM Asia Conference on Computer and Communications Security (AsiaCCS) is an annual conference launched in 2006. AsiaCCS started the Test-of-Time Award in 2025 to recognize papers that have had a lasting impact on the field. AsiaCCS will continue the tradition by giving the Test-of-Time Award in 2026.

  • Kenny Paterson (ETH Zurich, Switzerland) – Program Co-Chair 2026
  • Surya Nepal (AsiaCCS steering committee representative) – Chair

Any person can nominate a paper published at AsiaCCS for the award. Self-nomination is also allowed. To nominate a paper, please submit the following information to the committee Chair, Surya Nepal, at surya.nepal@data61.csiro.au by the deadline.

  • Paper title, paper authors and year of publication
  • Reason for nomination
  • Name, affiliation, and email address of the nominator

The reason for nomination should be at most 3000 characters, explaining why the paper has stood the test of time, what influence it has had on the field, and the impact the paper has had.

Deadline: 21 January 2026

To be eligible for the award given in 2026, a paper must have been published at AsiaCCS in 2011 and 2012. Papers authored or co-authored by the award committee members are not eligible to receive the award. Please refer to the ACM Guidelines on Conflict of Interest for the ACM Awards Committee.

The Test-of-Time award will be presented at AsiaCCS 2026 (Bangalore, India, June 1-5, 2026), and the recipient will give a (short) talk about some background on what led to the paper, or what their view on the topic is now and what has happened to the area in the meantime. The recipient’s registration fee will be waived.
